I’m Stevie, the solopreneur behind Fairflow Energy, and I want to help you solve your toughest electrical engineering problems in a way that helps people, planet and your profit.
I’ve got experience in complex projects involving high voltage and high power; both from a power electronics perspective and electrical infrastructure as a whole. This is largely from my work in fusion, operating and designing the electrical infrastructure for large scale fusion machines. That said, I’ve also got experience in a start-up environment with rapid prototyping and hands-on high voltage testing. Finally, I’m Certified Carbon Literate and have educated myself on what good eco-design looks like for electrical systems.
If you’ve got a tricky electrical problem and need someone to guide you through it, book a free discovery call today. I’ll check that we’re a good match for each other and you’ll be able to join my waiting list.
I offer a values driven approach and deep expertise in:
Electrical Infrastructure: Let me help you work out the complexities of specifying and operating pulsed loads, grid connections, transformers, electrical protection and on-site energy storage.
Power Electronics: Building something from scratch, or specifying power supplies for someone else to build? I'd love to help you strike the right balance of cost, efficiency and power density.
Problem Simplification: I cut through complexity, clearly defining functions and systems to turn your "knotty problems" into clear project plans and simple solutions.
Power Electronics Simulations: I use SIMBA (Power Electronics and Motor Drive Simulation) and Python-automated workflows to help crunch the numbers for those tricky problems.
Power Electronics market knowledge: Trust me to talk to suppliers of high voltage and high power equipment that will suit your needs.
Prototyping: Small-scale electrical prototyping at my assembly space on Harwell Campus, Oxfordshire.
Rapid Product Carbon Footprint: I use simple carbon footprint estimates and a tool called Banyan.eco to perform fast, actionable Product Carbon Footprint on your products, quickly identifying environmental "hotspots" to focus your redesign efforts.
Showcasing Innovation: I actively contribute to LibreVerter (a repairable, open-source 5kW home inverter) to showcase and validate my sustainable design principles.
Scientific Research (especially particle accelerators and fusion), renewables and EV charging infrastructure.
